With Group SMS you can send an SMS text message to a group of contacts, your friends or business contacts or clients. Group SMS is also the perfect app to send your Christmas and New Year greetings to your loved ones and friends.
These groups can be small or very large (Bulk SMS) and send to tens, hundreds or thousands of contacts. You can also send email to groups. Group SMS is ideal when you need to send the same message to any number of contacts.
Group SMS will show you the groups that are already defined in the Contacts app of your iPhone. It also allows you to create new groups as well as modify your existing groups and contacts.
Using the built-in Templates feature, you can reuse often-used text messages or emails that you need to send to groups.
You can also add attachments to your messages, like photos or PDFs.
Group SMS will send the SMS using the built-in Messages app OR you can use the special SMS gateway of Group SMS.
The costs of the SMSs will be charged by your mobile operator or you can buy SMS from within the app itself. If a group contains 12 contacts, you will be charged 12 SMS.
When you have a very large group (more than 50 contacts), you can choose to bypass your own mobile provider and select to use the SMS gateway of Group SMS instead. This will allow you to send your Group SMS with less cost and with more control. This feature is also ideal for marketing campaigns. You can import a large set of numbers via a .CSV file.
Group Mail is always without costs. You can also forward email attachments to groups.

I tried out the lite version and I was impressed because it did what i wanted... so I bought the full version.
Make groups from my contacts.
Edit those groups.
Send texts to the group.
I texted a group of 23 contacts and they all responded within seconds.
I was looking for this kind of app because my wife is giving birth and everyone wanted an update... This was the PERFECT APP for that.
Not 5 stars because it doesnt have the ability to send picture messaging. Which I understand because sending picture message to 23 people might take forever and kill your messaging plan.
I highly recommend this app.
This app is very useful but i think that the display coule be better and ramone the publicing.
But its not a must and it working really fine!
Pretty Nice application but when you ha ve list with iMessage and message. Its sent to iMessage only!

You should already have your groups defined to use this app, but in my case this is no problem, because I create and organize my groups always on the desktop (Mac). So, once you have your groups defined, this apps works perfectly and does the job well.
This is a very simple app that just does what the description says: send a text to a group of people form your address book. (The texts are send using the plan you have with your phone.)
I use this app since version 1.0 and with that version you could only define (who is in) a group on your computer, so not on your phone. Version 1.1 allows you to create and edit the groups on your phone as well. I mention this because 2 of the reviews with version 1.0 are not completely fair, imho. The people who wrote those did not read the description that came with version 1.0. (I am not saying they should but if they had they would have known what the app does do and does not do.) But I suppose they are happy now because their problem is solved with version 1.1.
Some bad moments
App. funktioniert beim iPhone 4 ohne Probleme! Habe mehrere Gruppen (bis 24 Kontakte) und es kommen alle SMS immer an!
I know for a fact you can send messages on an iPod 4g but this one doesnt. Nice icon though
I have been using this app for quite sometime now. It worked great for the SMSing part. I sent over 2500 msgs per month and I would have given it 5 stars. But, now I have discovered a MASSIVE problem with this app. iPhone contacts can only belong to one group PERIOD. So if you want to send the same person a msg about the baseball team and then a birthday, the groups (in this case 2), isnt translated well to the iPhone groups. GroupsSMS infact seems to duplicate the contact for each new group. It is clear to me (especially being an IT developer for a living) that the contact should not be duplicated but rather that GroupSMS, should keep its own "categories". This is a huge fail unless The people in your group doesnt need to be part of another group.
Did not work at all. Unable to add to groups. Scenes do not match what is shown here.
I was soo happy when I downloaded the free trial, when I got the official verssion and try to send a text blast to 150 persons, the phone goes crazy, it crashes the whole OS.
DONT BUY THIS APP, I FEEL SOO RIPT OFF, THIS APP SHOULD PAY PEOPLE TO USE IT INSTEAD OF CHARGING...

I was so excited to download and use this app bcus it looked simple and easy to use. Well, even after I figured everything out, my msgs wouldnt send. It just says failure. I should have read the reviews before purchasing it. This app was a waste of my dollar.
